Follo Platforms Private Limited (“Company”, “we”, “us” and “our”), under the brand name ‘Dr.follo’ knows that, you care how information about you are used and shared and we appreciate your trust in us. We assure you that, we take the issue of safeguarding your privacy seriously. We value your business and your faith in us in delivering you a superior level of service.
We want our Services to be safe and secure for our users. Adherence to uniform practices for collecting, using, disclosing, storing, retaining, disposing, accessing, transferring or otherwise processing such information assists us to process Personal Information fairly and appropriately, disclosing it and/or transferring it only under appropriate circumstances. This Privacy Policy (“Policy”) applies to the use of our Services including but not limited to:
Assisting practitioners, doctors and physicians or the clinics or hospitals or laboratories they are associated with (collectively the “Healthcare Service Provider(s)”), with clinical follow ups with their patients, primarily, post consultation or post their laboratory tests or post their discharge from under their care. We try to bridge the gap between the growing disconnect which happens between doctors and patients by offering follow up services on behalf of the Healthcare Service Providers and operate a platform whereby, the Healthcare Service Providers and User(s) can register themselves to provide and avail respectively, multiple services (collectively referred to as “Services”). The said platform can be accessed on our Platform at https://drfollo.com/, mobile application, smartphone related applications (including but not limited to messaging services such as WhatsApp) and related platforms (hereafter known as “Platform”). The Policy also relates to our use of any Personal Information and/or Sensitive Personal Data or Information you provide to us by phone, SMS, email, in letters, in person, through representatives and other correspondence or means.
Users who avail our Services and all other visitors to the Platform are referred to in this Policy as “you”, “your”, “User(s)”. This Policy applies regardless of whether you are using a computer, a mobile device or any other device to visit the Platform. By using the Platform, you agree to provide us your information in accordance with the terms of this Policy, our Platform’s Terms of Use (available at Terms & Conditions, or any other agreement that governs your use of our Platform (collectively the “Agreements”). You should not use our Platform if you do not agree with the terms and conditions contained in these Agreements.
1. DETAILS ABOUT THIS POLICY:
This Policy is published in compliance with inter alia, applicable provisions of the Information Technology Act, 2000, Information Technology (Reasonable Security Practices and Procedures and Sensitive Personal Information) Rules, 2011 (the “Rules”) and Information Technology (Intermediaries Guidelines) Rules, 2011.
This Policy provides information with regards to, (a) the type of information collected from the User(s), including Personal Information and Sensitive Personal Data or Information (as defined herein) relating to an individual, (b) the purpose, means and modes of collection, usage, processing, retention and destruction of such information, and (c) the process how and to whom we will disclose such information.
This Policy is applicable to:
- Everyone who accesses and uses https://drfollo.com/ in any form or manner;
- Anyone who interacts with us through any smartphone related applications, including but not limited to messaging services such as WhatsApp; and
- User(s) who avail our Services.
2. YOUR ACCEPTANCE TO THE POLICY:
The usage of the Services we offer or by merely visiting our Platform, you will be deemed to have read, understood and agreed to the practices and policies outlined in this Policy and agree to be bound by this Policy. You hereby consent to our collection, use and sharing, disclosure of your information as described in this Policy. If you use the Services on behalf of another person or entity, you represent that you are authorised by such person or entity to (i) accept this Policy on such person’s or entity’s behalf, and (ii) consent on behalf of such person or entity to our collection, use and disclosure of such person’s or entity’s information as described in this Policy or have procured appropriate consent explicitly in writing from them.
3. THE COLLECTION AND USE OF PERSONAL INFORMATION BY US:
Certain Services provided on the Platform require us to know who you are so that we are more equipped to service your requirements. When you access the Services, or through any interaction with us via emails, telephone calls or other correspondence, we may ask you to voluntarily provide us with certain information that personally identifies you or could be used to personally identify you. You hereby consent to the collection of such information by us.
The information collected from you by us may constitute ‘Personal Information’ or ‘Sensitive Personal Data or Information’ under the Rules.
“Personal Information” is defined under the Rules to mean any information that relates to a natural person, which, either directly or indirectly, in combination with other information available or likely to be available to a body corporate, is capable of identifying such person.
The Rules further define “Sensitive Personal Data or Information” of a person to mean personal information about that person relating to:
- passwords;
- financial information such as bank accounts, credit and debit card details or other payment instrument details;
- physical, physiological and mental health condition;
- sexual orientation;
- medical records and history;
- biometric information;
- any detail relating to the above clauses as provided to body corporate for providing service;
- information received by body corporate under lawful contract or otherwise.
It is however brought to your attention that any information that is freely available or accessible in the public domain shall not be regarded as Sensitive Personal Data or Information for the purposes of these Rules.
4. WHAT IS THE INFORMATION THAT WE GATHER ABOUT YOU?
- As you use our Services, you may provide us with a user name and password. You may also provide information in response to surveys we conduct or questionnaire we provide. Any information connected directly to your identity is protected under this Policy. We may collect the name of the respective Healthcare Service Provider and the relevant qualification such as Certificate from National Medical Council/ Medical Council of India/ State Medical Council (as applicable). In case the Platform or the Services is used by or accessed by the relevant hospital or clinic, then in such event, such entity shall also additionally provide their GST and other relevant information to us. We collect information based on the data you submit, or the information about the patients submitted by the Healthcare Service Providers, for the limited purpose of providing the Services.
2. The information we learn from you helps us to personalize and continually improve your experience on our Platform. We use your information to assist and provide you with our Services, communicate with you about our Services, update our records and generally maintain your accounts with us, display content such as customer reviews and recommend Services that might be of interest/ importance to you. While searching and reviewing the Services available on the Platform, prior to initiating contact for provision of Services, the Users are required to create an account. During the account registration process, we will collect Personal Information that you may be required to provide.
3. How and from what sources is Personal Information collected? For each of the categories of Personal Information and purposes described above, we gather information when you provide it to us, or interact with us directly, for example:
- when you create a profile or sign in to access an existing profile on our Platform, or mobile application, or interact with us through any smartphone related applications, including but not limited to messaging services such as WhatsApp;
- when you make an appointment with a Healthcare Service Provider, who has partnered with us;
- We also collect your Personal Information while monitoring our technology tools and Services, including email communications sent to you; and
- We combine information that we have about you from various sources, including the information that you have provided to us.
- We do not control or endorse the content, messages or information found in any Services and, therefore, we specifically disclaims any liability with regard to the Services and any actions resulting from your participation in any Services, and you agree that you waive any claims against us relating to same, and to the extent such waiver may be ineffective, you agree to release any claims against us relating to the same.
5. WHAT ARE THE TRACKING TECHNOLOGIES WE USE?
We may automatically collect information through tracking technologies such as cookies, pixel, tags and similar technologies. We may use tracking technologies when you visit or use the Platform to collect information about your browsing and purchasing behavior. We may also use third party partners to collect device and usage information. For example, we may collect information about how you use our Platform and mobile application, such as the pages you visit or links you click and if you use multiple devices, and information about the device you use, such as the IP address, device type, operating system, and a unique ID that allows us to uniquely identify a browser, mobile device or account, and other such information. If permitted by your device settings, we and our third party providers may collect location data through GPS, Wi-Fi or other methods to personalize and enhance your online experience and to improve the effectiveness of our Platform or mobile application, advertising, communications and customer service. We collect analytics data, or use third party analytics tools to help measure traffic and usage trends and to understand more about the demographics and behaviors of our users. Type of information that we may collect include:
a.) Click path data: The outcome of a visit to our Platform may result in data being transmitted from your computer to our server. Such data may be immediately processed and maintained by us. In particular, such details can contain the following:
- Date and time of visit to the Platform
- IP address
- Pages visited on our Platform
- Browser information
b.) Cookies: We use cookies, where a tiny data file is sent to your browser to store and display statistical details about you while you visit our Platform. The cookie is used for monitoring details such as the number of users and their consumption level, user profile and favoured Platforms. You are always free to decline our cookies if your browser permits, although in that case you may not be able to use certain features on the Platform and you may be required to re-enter your password more frequently during a session. We may use third party advertising companies to serve ads on our behalf. These companies may employ cookies and action tags to measure advertising effectiveness. We do not control the use of cookies by third parties.
c.). Web beacons: Online beacons contain icons which are not evident to the consumer. Tracking connections and/or related technology consist of a few lines of computer programming and can be implemented in our Platform. They are mainly used for statistical research purposes in combination with cookies. The system will also be used to detect traffic trends on our Platform.
d.). Analytics: Web analytics is the concept used for the practice of capturing and analyzing the actions of visitors to Platforms. It involves the study of user trends in order, for example, to assess the number of clicks to other sections of the Platform or to figure out what content and resources our users are more interested in. For such purposes, we use, in particular, the click-stream data and other techniques listed above.
6. DISCLOSURE OF YOUR INFORMATION:
- We may disclose your information to following recipients for the purpose of managing, operating, administering our business and for legal purposes:
- To our other group entities for security purposes;
- With anyone involved in the process of making your appointment arrangements in order to fulfill contractual obligations;
- To regulators, government, courts, law enforcement and other authorities acting as processors based in India who require reporting of processing activities in certain circumstances;
- Otherwise as permitted or required by applicable laws and regulations.
2. Law Enforcement, Legal Process and Compliance: We may disclose information about you (1) if we are required or permitted to do so by applicable law or legal process, (2) to law enforcement authorities or other government officials to comply with a legitimate legal request, (3) when we believe disclosure is necessary to prevent physical harm or financial loss, (4) to establish, exercise or defend our legal rights, (5) in connection with an investigation of suspected or actual fraud or illegal activity or (6) otherwise with your consent. Where we need to collect your information by law, or under the terms of a contract we have with you, and you fail to provide that data when requested, we may not be able to perform the contract we have or are trying to enter into with you (for example, to provide you with products or services). In this case, we may have to cancel a service you have booked with us but we will notify you if this is the case at the time.
3. Notwithstanding the above, we are not responsible for the confidentiality, security or distribution of your Personal Information by third-parties outside the scope of our agreement with such third-parties. Further, we shall not be responsible for any breach of security or for any actions of any third-parties or events that are beyond the reasonable control of us including but not limited to, acts of government, computer hacking, unauthorized access to computer data and storage device, computer crashes, breach of security and encryption, poor quality of internet service or telephone service of the User, etc.
7. HOW DO WE PROTECT YOUR INFORMATION?
- We employ procedural and technological security measures, which are reasonably designed to help protect your information from loss, unauthorized access, misuse, alteration or disclosure. We may use encryption, firewalls, passwords, and physical security measures to help protect your information.
- That said, it is important to note that no security measure is 100% secure and we do not promise and cannot guarantee the same. We endeavor to protect the privacy of your account and other Personal Information that we hold in our records, but unfortunately, we cannot guarantee complete security. Unauthorized access or use, hardware or software failure, and other factors, may compromise the security of user information. Also, while we endeavor to put adequate contractual protections in place, we cannot guarantee the security of any Personal Information in databases hosted by third parties.
- While we shall take reasonable steps to protect your information, you should not expect that your information or private communications cannot be collected and used by others. It is important to note that any e-mail communication is not secure. This is a risk inherent in the use of e-mail. Please be aware of this when requesting information or sending forms to us by e-mail.
- We urge you to take steps and ensure that no one has unauthorized access to your password, phone, and computer by, among other things, signing off after using a shared computer, choosing a robust password that nobody else knows or can easily guess, and keeping your log-in and password private. Finally, to be prudent, please be sure to always close your browsers when you are done using the Platform.
- We cannot guarantee that our Services and Platform will function in an error free manner and without any interruptions. We shall not be liable for damages that may result from the use of electronic means of communication, including, but not limited to, damages resulting from the failure or delay in delivery of electronic communications, interception or manipulation of electronic communications by third parties or by computer programs used for electronic communications and transmission of viruses.
8. LINKS TO ANY EXTERNAL WEBSITES:
The Platform may contain links to other external, third party websites over which we do not have any control. Such links do not constitute an endorsement by us of those external websites. Kindly note that the privacy practices on such websites may differ from ours. We encourage you to be aware when you leave our site, to review the privacy policy of any site you visit. By clicking on those links or enabling those connections may allow third parties to collect or share data about you. We are not responsible for the protection and privacy of any information (including Personal Information and cookies), which you provide while visiting such external websites and such sites are not governed by this Policy.
9. PROCESS RELATED TO OPTING OUT AND UNSUBSCRIBE:
If you no longer prefer to receive our Services or emails or newsletter, please follow the instructions for unsubscribing/ opting-out as indicated at the bottom of the email. Although the changes to your account will be processed as quickly as possible within a reasonable amount of time, please understand that you may receive emails and/ or newsletters until these changes have been processed. Also, note that opting-out does not apply to any communications necessary for the processing of your order. Please note that you may not be able to opt out of service-related communications (e.g., account verification, transactional communications, technical and security and notices).
10. HEALTHCARE SERVICE PROVIDERS NOTE:
This section applies to all Healthcare Service Providers.
- All the statements in this Privacy Policy apply to all Healthcare Service Providers, and all Healthcare Service Providers are therefore required to read and understand the privacy statements set out herein prior to submitting any Personal Information or Sensitive Personal Data or Information to us, failing which they are required to leave the Services, including the Platform immediately.
- Healthcare Service Provider’s personally identifiable information, which they choose to provide us, is used to help them describe and identify themselves. You will be the owner of your information and you consent to us collecting, using, processing and/or disclosing this information for the purposes hereinafter stated.
- We may also display information for Healthcare Service Providers who have not signed up or registered for the Services, provided that the Healthcare Service Providers have consented to us collecting, processing and/or disclosing their information on the Platform. Such Healthcare Service Providers are verified by us or our associates, and we make every effort to capture accurate information for such Healthcare Service Providers. However, we do not undertake any liability for any incorrect or incomplete information appearing on the Platform for such Healthcare Service Providers.
11. YOUR CONSENT:
By using the Platform and/ or by providing your information, you consent to the collection and use of the information you disclose on the Platform in accordance with this Policy, including but not limited to your consent for sharing your information as per the terms of this Policy.
You are not allowed to use the Services of the Platform if any of the terms of this Privacy Policy are not in accordance with the applicable laws of your country.
12. PERMISSIONS:
Once you download and install any of our applications, you may be prompted to grant certain permissions to allow the Platform to perform certain actions on your device. These actions include permission to:
- read/write/modify/delete data in relation to the Platform on your device’s storage;
- view/access information relating to networks/access networks, including permission to send and receive data through such networks/access networks;
- determine your approximate location from sources like, but not limited to, mobile towers and connected Wi-Fi networks;
- determine your exact location from sources such as, but not limited to, GPS;
- view/access device information, including but not limited to the model number, IMEI number, operating system information and phone number of your device; and
- access device information including device identification number required to send notification/push notifications.
13. CHANGES AND UPDATES MADE TO THIS POLICY:
We will review our policies, procedures and processes from time to time as part of our efforts to ensure we properly handle, secure and process your information. We reserve the right to amend, at our sole discretion, the terms of this Policy. We would notify you about revisions to this Policy by publishing the updated Policy on our Platforms with the date it was revised. You are advised to visit the Platform from time to time to ensure that you remain fully aware of our current Policy.
14. HOW LONG IS YOUR INFORMATION RETAINED?
We will only retain your information for as long as reasonably necessary to fulfil the purposes we collected it for, including for the purposes of satisfying any legal, regulatory, tax, accounting or reporting requirements. We may retain your personal data for a longer period in the event of a complaint or if we reasonably believe there is a prospect of litigation in respect to our relationship with you.

16. GOVERNING LAW AND JURISDICTION:
- This Policy shall be governed in all respects by the laws of India.
- Jurisdiction: The courts at Hyderabad, Telangana, India shall have exclusive jurisdiction and you hereby accede to and accept the jurisdiction of such courts.
